Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enroll my child at HLC?

To enroll your child you must first fill out an enrollment application.

What is required for the application?

A deposit is required to secure a slot at Harvest Learning Center. The deposit includes the $75 application fee, a $250 refundable security deposit that is returned after 30-day notice of withdrawal, the $200 annual supply fee and one week’s tuition.

Once enrolled, when can my child start?

Once you fill out our enrollment application, you will either have a placement or be added to our wait list. To find out how long our wait list is, please contact us.

How many meals are served during the day?

Breakfast, morning snack (for waddlers) lunch and an afternoon snack. Breakfast is served up until 9 a.m.

What are the hours of the center and is there a cut-off time for drop?

The center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is no cut-off drop off time. We do, however, discourage nap-time drop offs. Please avoid that time if possible.

 Are there any multi-child discounts?

Families who have been with HLC for a year earn a free vacation week for each child.

 Do you provide financial aid?

Parents who need financial assistance in paying for child care can contact Durham’s Alliance for Child Care Access at 919-560-8300. Parents who are undergraduate or graduate students at UNC-Chapel Hill may qualify for scholarships through the Child Care Services Association. Contact CCSA at 919-967-3272.

How often is the center closed?

For all major holidays and for three/four teacher workdays during the year.
